Job Title: Above Ground Level (AGL) Electrician
Hours: Full Time - 40 hours - Variable Shift Pattern

Purpose of Role
This is a great opportunity for a qualified Electrician to join our Defence contract as an AGL (Above Ground Level) Electrician. You will work on a busy live Airfield base, gaining new qualifications and certificates related to Airfield systems. The role involves shift work.
Job Description
The AGL Electrician specializes in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems associated with aviation and air traffic control facilities. Working in a safety-critical environment, you will ensure the reliable operation of airport lighting systems on runways, taxiways, and other key areas.
Responsibilities
1. Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain AGL systems, including runway edge lights, taxiway lights, approach lights, and control systems.
2. Perform general power and lighting installations with precision and quality.
3. Use effective fault-finding techniques to address electrical issues promptly.
4. Ensure compliance with internal processes, client requirements, legislation, and MOD JSPs.
5. Respond quickly to electrical failures, especially during adverse weather, to minimize air traffic disruption.
6. Keep accurate records of all installation, maintenance, and repair activities.
7. Manage workload to meet schedules and KPIs.
8. Document system changes and ensure records meet regulatory standards.
9. Follow strict safety protocols to prevent accidents in the aviation environment.
10. Implement and adhere to health, safety, and environmental procedures.
11. Participate in training to develop skills and knowledge proactively.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
* Recognized apprenticeship and relevant experience as a qualified electrician, or equivalent City and Guilds/NVQ in Electrical discipline.
* City and Guilds IEE 18th Edition Regulations.
* City and Guilds 2391, 2394, or 2395 Testing and Inspection.
* Experience in electrical testing and installation.
