Qualified Baby Room Early Years Practitioner

Salary: A GBP 12.82 : A GBP 13.43 per hour

The Role
They are currently seeking a Level 3 qualified Early Years Practitioner to join their Baby Room team. This is an excellent opportunity for a nurturing and experienced childcare professional with a passion for supporting the learning and development of babies and young children.
The practitioner will work as a professional Senior Early Years Practitioner, delivering high:quality care while being responsible for the daily safety and wellbeing of the children in their care. They will take the lead in supervising staff within the Baby Room, ensuring a consistent and supportive environment for both children and colleagues. The role requires working in full accordance with the Welfare Requirements, the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), and the principles of Every Child Matters, promoting best practice at all times. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute positively as a team player, working co:operatively and with flexibility to meet the needs of the setting.
Key Responsibilities
* Be a keyholder able to unlock or lock:up at either site if required. Responsible for premises security.
* In the absence of the Nursery Manager or Deputy Manager Nursery ensure that all safety procedures are in place and communicate clearly and diplomatically with colleagues, staff and customers at all levels and make decisions relating to the service provided on:site followed by all staff.
* To be responsible for and manage the room on a daily basis ensuring good practice.
* To be responsible for providing a stimulating and attractive environment.
* To liaise and work with the management team (communicate effectively).
* To delegate responsibilities and duties within the room.
* To communicate clearly and effectively with parents/carers at all times. Discuss their childs progress and development regularly, to establish and maintain good relationships.
* To participate in parents meetings/evenings, fundraising events, promotion of the nursery and childrens outings.
* To adhere to all company policies and procedures.
* To ensure equal opportunities for all including children, parents/carers, staff, volunteers and students, actively promoting anti:discriminatory practice.
* To answer any day:to:day queries from parents and staff.
* To ensure all planning and the childrens profiles on Family are up to date, assisting and helping staff if necessary.
* To ensure and maintain health and safety within the room and outside areas, carrying out regular risk assessments and daily checks.
* To be familiar with child protection procedures and to understand the safeguarding children (child protection) policy.
* To understand and care for the childrens needs with regards to their physical, emotional, social and intellectual development.
* To be a good role model by setting a good example to the children, other practitioners and students.
* To positively manage childrens behaviour.
* When required prepare meals and babies bottles following hygiene procedures.
* To ensure high standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
* To understand and follow emergency and security procedures.
* To plan and prepare stimulating and suitable activities for all children which are age appropriate and in conjunction with the Early Years Foundation Stage.
* To observe and record childrens progress and development participating in a key worker system.
* To attend to injuries and accidents ensuring that a child who has had an accident is cared for appropriately and monitored throughout the day.
