What does a great Sales Operations Specialist do?
As a Sales Operations Specialist at Travelport, you will play a vital role in designing, building and implementing efficient sales processes, systems, and tools to support the sales team in achieving their objectives. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to optimize sales performance, streamline workflows, and enhance the overall sales infrastructure. This position requires a strong understanding of sales operations, process design, and technological solutions within the travel industry. The candidate would enjoy problem solving, have a keen understanding of excel and an interest in technology and how it can be used to improve a business.
The design and build aspect of sales operations focuses on creating a structured and optimized sales environment. By implementing efficient processes, utilizing appropriate methodologies, leveraging sales tools, and providing relevant resources and training, organizations can enhance the effectiveness of their sales teams and drive better sales outcomes.
Responsibilities:
Design and Build Sales Processes:
1. Analyze existing sales processes and identify areas for improvement and optimization.
2. Develop and document streamlined sales processes and methodologies aligned with company objectives.
3. Collaborate with sales leadership and stakeholders to ensure process adoption and alignment across the organization.
4. This involves defining and mapping out the sales process's various stages, steps, and activities. It includes identifying critical touchpoints with stakeholders, establishing criteria for advancing deals through the pipeline, and creating a clear framework for the sales team to follow.
Sales System Design and Integration:
5. Evaluate sales tools and systems, including CRM, sales automation, and reporting platforms.
6. Design and configure these systems to meet the sales team's specific needs.
7. Collaborate with ECS and other stakeholders to ensure seamless system integration and data flow.
8. Designing and implementing the right sales tools and systems is crucial for optimizing the sales process. This includes selecting and configuring a customer relationship management (CRM) system, sales automation tools, and other technologies that align with the enterprise's objectives.
9. The design and integration of these tools aim to streamline sales activities, enhance data management, and enable effective communication and collaboration within the sales team.
Collateral Resource Development / Training and Onboarding:
10. Work closely with Sales Enablement and sales operations implementation team to develop adequate sales collateral and resources.
11. Develop training materials and resources to support onboarding and ongoing development of the sales team.
12. Design and create presentations, demos, case studies, and other materials to support the sales team's efforts.
13. Provide guidance and coaching to sales representatives on sales processes, methodologies, and tools.
14. To help the sales team at Travelport use internal tools efficiently, it's important to create various sales materials like presentations, product demos, case studies, and other supportive resources.
Sales Analytics and Reporting:
15. Leverage sales data and analytics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
16. Develop and generate reports, dashboards, and metrics to monitor sales performance.
17. Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to drive informed decision-making.
Sales Methodology:
18. Defining and consulting with other teams on the sales team's approach or framework to engage with prospects and customers. Designing an effective sales methodology involves mapping the end-to-end journey from prospecting to onboarding a client. It may incorporate proven methods such as consultative, solution, or challenger selling.
19. Developing different Methodologies for different verticals of the business.
Who we are looking for in this role:
20. Proven experience in sales operations, process design, and system implementation.
21. Strong understanding of sales methodologies and best practices.
22. Familiarity with sales tools and technologies, such as CRM systems. Familiarity of Oracle Sales Cloud is a plus.
23. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
24. Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
25. Effective communication and collaboration skills to work cross-functionally.
26. Prior experience in the travel industry or related fields is a plus.
