Job overview
The Acute Medical Unit (AMU) at Midland Metropolitan University Hospital (MMUH) are actively seeking a motivated and forward-thinking senior nurse to join them in the role of Band 7 Practice Development Nurse AMU provides care within the structure Medicine and Emergency Care and umbrellas a Frailty Assessment area, Short stay area and Enhance care beds.
The primary responsibilities of the successful applicant will be to plan and coordinate education and clinical skills both bespoke and structured for AMU, playing a pivotal role in the recruitment and retention of staff.
You will play a key role in maintaining clinical quality and ensuring that clinical governance standards are upheld. You will also have responsibility for nurturing and developing the nursing Team to maximize its potential and focusing on strategies to maintain and improve staff well-being.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will lead on aspects of the Professional Development strategy for AMU,
The post holder will be an expert practitioner, and will be expected to provide leadership and direction to the AMU team
The post holder has the responsibility for assessing educational and developmental needs of all levels of nursing and other non – medical staff, devising and implementing strategies to address both individuals’ and service needs.
You will be a passionate, adaptable, organised individual leading a small team, and with the responsibility for the training budget within Acute Medicine.

Qualifications
* RN adults with current NMC registration
* Degree level education
* Teaching / assessing qualification e.g. ENB 998 or equivalent.
* Evidence of continuing professional development in last 12 months
* Leadership / management course
* Advanced Life Support providor/ Instructor
* Counselling course
* Master or working towards
* PG Cert in teaching and learning
* AIM instructor
Experience
* Experience in Acute Medicine (Including Level 1 patients)
* Experience in teaching and learning
