Graduate Teaching Assistant – Full-Time Role in Cheadle
Teaching Personnel is seeking a Graduate Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated "Good" secondary school in Cheadle. This full-time position begins in January and runs until the end of the academic year, with the potential to become a permanent role based on performance. The role offers a weekly salary of £419.25 - £500, depending on qualifications and experience.
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students and teachers in the classroom. Responsibilities:
* Classroom Support: Assist teachers in delivering lessons by working with small groups of students or providing one-to-one support to those who need extra help.
* Intervention Sessions: Lead focused intervention sessions to help students improve in key areas of their learning, boosting their confidence and understanding of the curriculum.
* Student Engagement: Foster a positive learning environment by encouraging active participation and addressing barriers to learning.
* Behavior Support: Help manage classroom behavior by promoting positive attitudes and maintaining a calm, productive atmosphere.
* Preparation of Resources: Assist with preparing lesson materials and organizing resources to support effective teaching.
* Progress Monitoring: Observe and document student progress, providing feedback to teachers to inform planning and interventions.
* Mentorship: Act as a positive role model, offering guidance and encouragement to students.
Qualifications:
* Graduate in Any Discipline: A degree in a relevant subject is essential. Special consideration will be given to candidates with backgrounds in education, psychology, English, mathematics, science, or humanities.
* Passion for Education: A genuine desire to support young people in their academic and personal development.
* Strong Communication Skills: The ability to connect with and inspire students of all abilities.
* Adaptability: Flexible and proactive in meeting the needs of students and teachers.
* Team Player: Willing to collaborate with teaching staff and contribute to the wider school community.
* Experience (Preferred): While not essential, prior experience in tutoring, mentoring, or working with young people is beneficial.
