Here at ParkerSteel, we have an exciting opportunity for a motivated Shift Maintenance Engineer to join our busy Maintenance team at our Canterbury site.
You will be working on a full-time, permanent basis and in return, you will receive a starting basic salary of up to £35,000 dependent on skills and experience. Overtime opportunities are available.
Hours: This role will be working on a pattern of 4 days on/4 days off/4 nights on/4 nights off 12-hour shifts.
The Role and Responsibilities will include:
* The purpose of this role is to carry out planned preventative and emergency breakdown maintenance on a wide and diverse range of machinery including overhead cranes, shot blast and paint line, CNC controlled saws, drills, lasers, and water jet machines.
* Undertaking planned preventative maintenance activities, recording and documenting findings and instigating repairs found to be required.
* Carrying out breakdown and remedial repairs on processing machinery and plant.
* Keeping all records up to date associated with the planned preventative maintenance.
The Skills you will have or will develop:
* Electrical/ mechanical skills including fault finding.
* Experience of completing planned maintenance activities.
* Knowledge of hydraulic systems or pneumatic systems.
* Systematic fault-finding skills - Logical Thinking.
* Strong HSE awareness.
* Self-disciplined and self-motivated.
* Ability to communicate clearly - both verbally and written.
* Good decision-making skills against priorities.
* Team player.
* Ability to work at height.
* Turning, milling, and light fabrication skills including basic welding.
* Experience in use and repair of Fork trucks, Cranes, and MEWP’s.
* Driving license.
