Wastewater Process Engineer
Job Overview
Southern Water is seeking a talented and motivated Process Engineer to join our Wastewater Team. As a key member of our dynamic, multidisciplinary engineering team, you will play a crucial role in delivering technical expertise across a range of Waste treatment projects. Your responsibilities will include producing design deliverables such as mass balances, process sizing calculations, flow and quality data analysis, control philosophies, process flow diagrams, performance specifications, and compliance reports. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of commissioning plans and process solutions that drive TOTEX efficiencies. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working on innovative and high-profile engineering projects.
You will assist Senior/Principal Engineers in preparing designs and managing strategy work within the Process Team. You will have experience in delivering Waste treatment processes design. Ideally, you will have experience in operations, optimisation, and commissioning activities. You will have proven skills in analysing data to evaluate the performance of existing assets and develop process solutions.
Location & Hours
Hybrid working, with site visits to our head office in Brighton. Full time Monday to Friday, 37 hours a week; however, Southern Water offers a flexible working policy.

About You
You will have an MEng/BEng/BSc in Chemical Engineering or equivalent. Ideally, you will be a member of a relevant professional institution and working towards Chartership. This role will provide you with an excellent opportunity to further develop your career in a highly supportive and collaborative environment. You will need to have proven and demonstrable experience in delivering Waste projects for UK Water Companies. We are looking for candidates ideally with access to their vehicles, as you will be occasionally required to travel to various offices or sites across the region.
Skills: Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive innovation and manage complex engineering challenges.
