Job summary
The nutrition and dietetic service has recently investment and is excited to offer this newly created band 4 senior dietetic assistant post.
The successful candidate will work in the community supporting patients in their own homes or residential/nursing home. Our caseload includes support for patients with a variety of different clinical conditions, for example: cancer, dementia, respiratory diseases and age related illness. This includes enteral feeding.
We work closely with our community colleagues across the MDT including district nurses, specialist nurses and speech and language therapy colleagues to provide high quality patient care.
Strong communication and time management skills are essential to allow you to independently manage a caseload with support from the qualified dietitians and team leaders.
The are also opportunities to be included in training sessions for other health professionals on malnutrition screening and awareness.
You will be involved in dietetic student training.
Main duties of the job
To support qualified dietitians in assessing and treating patients who may be discharged from hospital or living in the community with a range of conditions
Complete lower level assessments or re-assessment with support
To deliver training to other health professionals and key stake holders
To support student training
