The Joiner is responsible through the Foreperson, for providing an effective repairs and planned maintenance service to the councils housing stock.
The Joiner will carry out planned and responsive repairs as well as internal and external alterations, identifying any future maintenance and keeping accurate records of work undertaken.
As well as the responsive repairs the Joinery work will include demolition, timber framing, cladding/roofing work, lining and dry partitioning, window and door replacement, kitchen upgrades and finishing’s.
Specific tasks of the Joiner will include:
* Carrying out joinery repairs and maintenance in a professional manner including the requisitioning of materials, plant and appropriate allocation of resources.
* Trace and repair building defects and identify appropriate measures to make good repairs
* Travelling to council estates over a wide geographical area and accessing all parts of the buildings.
* Working from scaffolding, accessing confined spaces as well as incidental builders work
* Carrying out basic risk assessments of operations and ensuring appropriate control measures are followed to ensure the safety of operatives, tenants and the public.
* Accurately recording works done against works ordered.

* Salary shown in the advert is inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance of £2,742 per annum (pro rata)
* Permanent Full Time post for 37.0 Hours per Week, 52.18 weeks per year
