Location: Portsmouth, UK Start Date: September 2025 Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent Pay - £130 - £230 Role Overview: We are looking for a dynamic and inspiring History Teacher to deliver high-quality, engaging lessons across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5. The successful candidate will have a passion for history and an ability to bring it to life in the classroom, encouraging students to think critically and develop a deep understanding of the past. Key Responsibilities: Deliver engaging and effective History lessons to students across KS3, KS4, and KS5, ensuring a high standard of education. Develop and implement creative, inclusive lesson plans that promote a passion for history and encourage critical thinking. Prepare students for assessments, examinations, and coursework, supporting them in achieving their full potential. Foster a love for historical inquiry, encouraging students to explore historical events, perspectives, and sources. Provide feedback on student progress and adapt teaching to meet individual learning needs. Collaborate with colleagues to further develop and enhance the History curriculum. Participate in extracurricular activities related to history, such as school history clubs, trips, or projects. Uphold a positive, respectful, and inclusive learning environment, supporting students’ social, emotional, and academic development. Key Skills & Experience: Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in History or a related subject. Strong knowledge and understanding of the UK History curriculum at secondary school level (KS3–KS5). A passion for history and the ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities. Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to engage students in critical discussions and help them make connections between the past and the present.
