Job Title: QA Manager
Location: Maidstone
Reporting to: Technical Manager
Job Purpose:
To ensure the company meets customer and legislative, food safety and quality requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
* Management, development, and leadership of the QA Auditors.
* Review, development, and maintenance of the site’s Quality Management System.
* Establish and implement QMS procedures to comply with all requirements of major multiples and group standards.
* Maintain good relations with all enforcement agencies and customers.
* Monitor supplier performance and non-conformances.
* Manage internal and external non-conformances and ensure preventative/corrective actions and root cause analysis are completed.
* Ensure quality/food safety checks and records are completed as per document or electronic requirements through the QA function.
* Manage the calibration, analytical (chemical, environmental, microbiological) and verification schedules.
* Deliver effective training to enhance the food safety and quality culture.
* Site KPI monitoring and communication internally and externally.
* Ensure product quality is in line with internal/customer specifications (QAS) and identify quality improvement initiatives.
* Emphasis on GMP standards being always adhered to (audit ready).
* Lead the site management to improve site standards throughout.
* Deputise for the Technical Manager in his/her absence from site.
* Completion of internal audits i.e., QMS, HACCP, GMP, QAQCP and management of the internal audit program and improvement plans.
* Enforcing food safety, food defence, quality, and legality standards.
* Managing customer complaints ensuring a full investigation and that the customer receives a satisfactory response in the appropriate deadline.
* To be an active member of the HACCP team and ensure the HACCP program is implemented and managed including Critical Control Points (CCP’s) audits and CCP’s verified and validated.
Additional Skills and Qualifications:
* Degree in Food Science or similar background.
* Understanding of the HACCP and general technical procedures.
* Experience in an FMCG environment.
* Previous experience with BRCGS, major retailers and customers’ standards.
