Job Summary
The Service Centre Engineer is responsible for the servicing and repair of CONMED’s capital equipment, ensuring all work is completed in line with company procedures, compliance standards, and customer expectations. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
Key Responsibilities
Service and Repair
* Perform timely repairs and servicing of CONMED’s capital equipment, including diathermy machines, smoke evacuation units, and insufflators, in line with planned maintenance and final testing procedures.
* Accurately diagnose faults, repairing and servicing small precision assemblies and electrical components.
* Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and procedures to ensure the highest standards of repair, enhancing equipment performance and customer satisfaction.
Customer Support & On-Site Maintenance
* Conduct on-site visits to provide planned maintenance, testing, and support for colleagues and customers.
* Assess customer requirements and identify potential adverse incidents, escalating findings to the Service Manager for further investigation.
* Respond to customer enquiries via telephone and email, addressing queries, service requests, orders, deliveries, and quotes in a professional and timely manner.
Continuous Improvement & Flexibility
* Proactively suggest operational enhancements contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.
* Provide flexible support to other business areas during staff absences and busy periods.
* Work flexible hours, including occasional overtime, to meet critical deadlines when required.
Process Compliance & Equipment Management
* Prepare quotations and management reports as required.
* Monitor and ensure the regular calibration of all service-related test equipment and tooling.
* Maintain the workshop area in accordance with 5S standards, ensuring a safe and organised working environment.
* Adhere to and uphold all company policies and regulatory standards, including business conduct, corporate ethics, quality system compliance, and regulatory affairs. Proactively familiarize yourself with the specific policies and requirements relevant to your role, ensuring these standards are fully integrated into daily operations and long-term strategic planning. Consult with management or relevant departments as needed to guarantee full compliance with corporate policies and regulatory obligations.

Education / Qualifications
Essential
* Engineer related NVQ Level 3 or higher with an emphasis on electrical engineering.
* A full, valid UK driving licence.

* Excellent time management, ensuring work is completed to agreed deadlines.
* Strong ability to create, compose, and edit written materials effectively.
* Proficient in all Microsoft packages and IT systems related to company goods and stock control processes.
