About the role:
A member of the Central Food Retail Team contributing to achieving the Food Retail strategy.
To develop, agree and implement marketing programs and tactical campaigns in support of the Food Group business plans and longer term trading objectives.
The role will also require the post holder to represent the Food Retail Group at external conferences, meetings and receptions. Additionally, the post holder will meet with relevant internal and external contacts to ensure that the Food marketing requirements are delivered in line with agreed SLAs.
Create agreed marketing packages for various scenarios, including new store launches, refurbished store re-launches and any closure activities.
Oversee and manage the delivery of collateral for each retail promotional period.
Accountable for the Marketing P&L ensuring an appropriate control environment exists so that all marketing expenditure is appropriately calculated in line within budgetary parameters prior to activity.
Provision of written reports for consideration by the Society’s Board, Food Board or the Executive, specifically, relating to aspects and responsibilities of Food marketing.
Who are we looking for?
* Previous operational or commercial retail experience, preferably in convenience food marketing.
* Sound commercial knowledge and market awareness.
* Highly numerate with strong attention to detail.
* Intermediate Excel skills, able to manipulate and report on high volumes of data using lookup and pivot table functionality.
* Experience of managing third party suppliers.
* Experience of managing a significant P&L.
