Location: New Independent Special Needs School, Hungerford, West Berkshire
About the Role: We are seeking a flexible, compassionate and experienced teaching assistant to provide day-to-day cover at an independent special needs school, supporting students on an as-needed basis. As a supply TA, you will play a key role in fostering a positive and nurturing environment for autistic students who experience behavioural challenges.
Role Overview:
1. Schedule: Flexible, as-needed basis, Monday to Friday, between 8:30 AM and 3:30 PM.
2. Responsibilities: Provide essential classroom support, help manage challenging behaviours and assist with personal care tasks as required.
3. Engagement: Work directly with students, offering guidance that supports their learning, development and individual needs.
Requirements:
1. Experience: Previous experience with young people with special needs or challenging behaviour.
2. Skills: Strong behaviour management strategies, patience, compassion and dedication to supporting each student’s unique needs.
Salary and Benefits:
1. Pay Rate: Starting umbrella rate of £93.48 per day, with potential pay increase after 12 weeks.
2. Future Opportunities: Possible pathway to permanent employment with the school.
