Do you want to work in an excellent nurse-led, outpatient unit that provides a high standard of care to patients? If so, our vacancy within the East Coast medical elective service might be the job you have been looking for.
Our service provides treatments for a wide range of patients' conditions, with the aim of maintaining their health and reducing the need to access the acute patient setting.
The Bronte/Lawrence Units provide nurse-led outpatient services to patients requiring a variety of treatments, including Blood transfusions, Platelet transfusion, and Venesections.
We also provide intravenous therapies, including specialist treatments such as immunoglobulin, bisphosphonates, and biological therapies.
We have a great team of staff and we consistently receive a 100% recommendation of good/very good from our patients' friend and family survey.
Our staff gain job satisfaction from providing vital treatments for our patients, many of whom regularly attend our service. This enables a positive therapeutic relationship between patients and staff.
The base for the post will be on the Bronte Unit, Scarborough Hospital but cross-site cover to the Lawrence Unit, Bridlington Hospital is expected as part of the role.
We are looking for caring individuals and although it is not essential, ideally you will have experience of at least 18 months at Band 5 level nursing within an acute setting.
Main duties of the job
* Maintain a high standard of patient-focused care in accordance with York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust policies and procedures.
* Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
* Provide assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care for patients, ensuring accurate written records are kept.
* Communicate with patients and carers to ensure they have access to appropriate information.
* Promote and maintain positive relationships between all staff involved in the care of the patient.
* Act in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council Code of Conduct.
* Undertake duties on different wards/departments as and when required by service demands.
* Demonstrate personal responsibility for compliance with infection control policies and procedures.

DBS Checks
Please be aware that all new employees starting work with us will be charged for the cost of their DBS check if it is required for the role.
