Job summary The Haematology/Oncology ward and Haematology Day Unit is advertising a band 6 vacancy. The ward specialises in haematological/Oncological disorders, including administration of chemotherapy, blood products, venepuncture and cannulation, caring for the acutely ill i.e. neutropenic septic patient as well as the management of patients post stem cell transplant. We also care for patients with oncological emergencies, palliation, symptom management and end of life care. The Day Unit treats Haematology patients with SACT and supportive therapies. Main duties of the job We are looking for dynamic, motivated individual who is able to lead by clinical excellence. Chemotherapy skills are essential, and a good knowledge of haematology/oncology is essential, A mentorship qualification is desirable, but not essential. The applicant will be expect to work long days, nights and weekends to support the team. We are working closely with the Sussex Cancer Center, oncology in-patients and PRH haem /onc day unit, therefore the suitable candidate needs to be willing to support those areas as well. You will be taking on additional specialist clinical skills as well as teaching Junior staff.
