Claims Manager
Salary: band 7 (£46,148 - £52,809)
Location: NHS Resolution’s Leeds offices – hybrid working or home
Both permanent and fixed term contracts are available
The opportunity
As NHS Resolution continues to grow, we are recruiting for Claims Managers with clinical negligence claims handling experience to join us and support our main aim by proactively managing claims from commencement to conclusion on behalf of Members and Beneficiaries of the indemnity schemes that we are responsible for as an NHS arm’s length body.
What you’ll be doing:
As well as managing your own portfolio of complex and non-complex cases and conducting the investigation, quantification, and negotiation of these claims to conclusion you will be considering the issues of Breach of Duty, Causation, quantification and cost control. You will provide a professional service to Members, Beneficiaries, Claimants, Defence and Claimant Solicitors and all other interested parties.
What you’ll bring:
To be considered for this opportunity you must have both technical knowledge and experience of claims management in clinical negligence. As well as demonstrating the following:
* Evidence of successfully managing a large caseload within strict time limits and conflicting priorities.
* An understanding of current law and relevant statutes
* The ability to draft documents and complex correspondence concisely and professionally (particularly in legal areas).
* Ability to work as a team member and also collaboratively with other teams.
* Exceptional customer focus and awareness.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to focus on continuous service improvement and innovation.

About NHS Resolution:
NHS Resolution, a not-for-profit arm of the NHS, helps healthcare providers resolve claims fairly and share learning. We offer a supportive environment with specialist training and personal development opportunities.
We manage several indemnity schemes for the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, handling liability claims against English NHS Trusts and other NHS care providers. Our claims teams, working in a dynamic environment, manage claims from former PCTs and Strategic Health Authorities, contributing to an improving claims service.
