About the Role:
To plan and support KAE's learners in a learning programme in line with awarding body specifications and KAE policies.
Holds regular meetings with learners for training, guidance, mentoring, planning, coaching, progress and portfolio building purposes
and assesses learners’ progress and evidence.
● Records learner progress using KAE paperwork and e-portfolio paperwork and makes the Internal Quality Assurer / Verifier and
Skills Manager aware of progress and problems if they arise.
● Liaises and meets with employers over learners’ progress and needs.
● Completes course documentation with learners according to KAE and Awarding Body policies and ensures learner portfolios are
completed to the desired standard and completed on time.
● Maintains regular contact with learners in person, via email, e-portfolio and telephone.
● Uses agreed assessment techniques such as tasks, written statements, observation, projects, questions, professional
discussions, video or sound recording, photographing or by other assessment techniques agreed by the Internal Quality
Assurer / Verifier.
● Provides constructive developmental feedback on work including spelling, punctuation and grammar (SPAG).
● Attends assessor meetings, standardisation, team meetings as required and attends the annual staff conference and appraisal
meeting.
● Completes relevant CPD and maintains occupational competency.
● Implements changes resulting from Internal Quality Assurance/Verification and/or External Quality Assurance/Verification
processes as necessary and complies with KAE and contractual quality assurance and audit procedures.
● Commits to the wellbeing of staff, actively promotes RBK’s policies and reports any safeguarding or Prevent concerns in line with the
Safeguarding and Prevent policies.
● Undertakes any other duties as required which are commensurate with the grade and the purpose of the post.
Our Ideal Candidate:
You should:
Hold a relevant qualification Level 3 Assessing Vocational Achievement or equivalent
Have experience in the field you are due to teach
Be able to include digital skills within your delivery of the course
Question and challenge ways of working, with an understanding of the bigger picture in terms of the corporate context and external environment
Demonstrate agility and adaptability in mindset and ways of working
Work successfully with key stakeholders within and outside of the Council
Demonstrate commitment to own personal and professional development to meet the changing demands of the role
