Job summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and committed administrator to join our booking office for Podiatry at Chard Community Hospital and Bartec in Yeovil.
This is a busy role with a high volume of calls and busy reception. It would suit a customer care driven individual who can use their initiative and cope with the demands of the service, working effectively as part of a team.

Main duties of the job
As a Booking Office Administrator, you'll be an integral part of the Podiatry Team, providing effective administrative support to the Service.
The role is busy and varied. We are looking for someone who can work in a fast-paced environment with excellent communication skills.
The majority of the role involves telephone communication, as the team is the first point of contact for patients accessing Podiatry. You will need excellent telephone and face-to-face communication skills, and occasionally handle difficult conversations.

Person Specification
Qualifications (Essential)
* English Language GCSE/O Level 4 or above
* Vocational or NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent, or relevant experience
* Level 2 vocational qualification willing to complete Level 3 within an agreed timeframe
* Experience with administrative systems (RiO), patient information systems, hospital departments, clerical procedures, data input
* NVQ Customer Service Level 2 or equivalent
Experience (Essential)
* Knowledge of administrative and hospital systems, acquired through on-the-job training
* Word processing skills and familiarity with Microsoft Word
* Experience in clerical/administration duties, databases, and computer literacy
* Good organizational skills
* High standards of written communication, email, and internet use
