Management Accountant
Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Management Accountant to join our Finance team on a full-time basis. In this role, you will report into our Finance Director while managing 2 direct reports, who are responsible for the day-to-day accounts processing. You will be overseeing financial processes and be responsible for providing key financial insights and analysis.
All About You
Our Finance team is a central support function to the whole business, so you will have the natural ability to build excellent working partnerships across all functions. You will have expert knowledge within the management accountant field and be able to apply your expertise in a confident and supportive manner. In addition to reporting and analysis, you will be key to driving efficiencies and implementing processes that support continuous improvement across the function.
Key Responsibilities
1. Ensuring that monthly reporting is completed & documentation is correct.
2. Reporting of management accounts at sales channel level and company level for review with Finance Director
3. Variance analysis to budget (including detailed analysis to support) across all channels (sales mix, margin and cost variances)
4. Month-end stock reconciliation
5. Stock provision release by month
6. Monthly Balance sheet analysis and reconciliations with supporting schedules
7. P&L analysis
8. FX analysis
9. Support Finance Director with Budget preparation
10. Assist with Quarterly VAT returns x 4
11. Processing financial transactions
12. Able to delegate queries to other members of the team and efficiently provide solutions.
13. Review and enhancement of all current financial procedures and reporting
14. Assist with production of budgets, cash flows and forecasting
15. Help with year-end in preparing financial reporting files and relevant supporting evidence is available for external accountants
Experience, Requirements & Attributes
1. Proven background working in a similar role within a finance function.
2. Proficient Microsoft Office software skills, including Excel (vlookups and pivot tables), PowerPoint, and Word.
3. Highly analytical with the ability to analyse, interpret and present data
4. Experience in team management.
5. Capable of building and maintaining strong working relationships with stakeholders of all levels.
6. Able to react, adapt, and cope under pressure and pragmatically seek solutions in challenging situations.
7. Self-motivated with the ability to manage your own workload and to deliver projects on time.
8. The successful candidate must have Right to Work in the UK.
