Fleet Management (Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics)
Skyroad Group is a specialist transport and logistics provider servicing major airlines, logistics majors, and primarily linking major airports in Australia. As part of our strong growth, we are seeking a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor for our transport depot and warehouse located near Melbourne Airport, reporting to our National Operations team.
This role would suit a person who has hands-on knowledge of heavy vehicles, the ability to perform minor repairs, and is looking for their next step into a supervisory role to build upon their trade qualifications (e.g., a diesel mechanic). Responsibilities include the use of telemetry, cloud-based maintenance planning and recording tools, and managing a budget across multiple suppliers. Some on-call quick transactions are part of the role, mainly to organize service providers for breakdowns.
A pathway to supervising compliance activities and working with the Company Management System and NHVAS Accreditations for fatigue (e.g., logbook checks, data checks), maintenance management (plan, do, check, record), and mass management (calibrations, reporting) is available as part of personal progress and growth.
The successful applicant will also deliver on equipment refurbishment and overhaul plans set by management.
Minimum Requirements :
* a qualification as a diesel mechanic, auto electrician, mechanical engineer, or a similar technical role underpinning knowledge of heavy transport equipment and maintenance programs;
* a forklift licence (either held now or required within the probationary period); and
* a HC or MC heavy vehicle licence is highly desired (to move trucks and run compliance tasks).
Required Skills :
* mechanical and electrical skills applicable to trucks and trailers;
* skills in using common tools for work on heavy vehicles;
* proficiency in welding repairs and fitting work to trailers and related equipment;
* auto electrical skills to make smaller repairs such as battery replacements, wiring re-terminations, and basic fault diagnosis of 12V and 24V systems;
* ability to deal with drivers and translate faults to fixes.
In addition, to meet security and minimum job performance requirements, you must demonstrate :
* a cleared Australian Federal Police criminal check;
* 100 points of Australian identification;
* Australian citizenship or at least 5 years of Australian permanent residency with supportable history of addresses and details for AFP checks;
* ability to hold an Australian Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC);
* at least 5 years of maintenance experience in a transportation (trucking or similar) environment;
* understanding of maintenance programs and how they are applied (system already exists in the Company);
* knowledge of and experience with NHVAS accreditations (although training and guidance will be provided as part of inductions and training);
* proficiency in computer applications such as Excel, SharePoint, and Outlook.
Candidates wanting to step up from body building and diesel mechanic roles will be paid a tool allowance for bringing their own hand tool kits.
No applications will be considered from foreign applicants or those not meeting Australian residency history. Notwithstanding this, Skyroad has an equal employment opportunity policy, and all applicants meeting our hiring criteria will be considered.
Our salaried remuneration is in the range of $100,000 to $120,000 including superannuation depending on the candidate, with other benefits being negotiable.
