Job Overview:
Claire at Amber Mace is recruiting for a registered home manager to lead and manage a nursing team in a well established and respected nursing home in Worcester. This role offers a unique opportunity to provide excellent care, lead a dedicated team of healthcare professionals, and ensure the highest quality of life for our residents. As the Registered Nurse Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing nursing staff, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and driving continuous improvement in care quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a team of nurses and healthcare assistants, ensuring high standards of care for all residents.
Oversee the clinical aspects of care delivery, ensuring that care plans are accurately implemented and reviewed regularly.
Supervise and support nursing staff with the delivery of personal care, medication administration, and medical treatments as per residents’ needs.
Lead by example, providing hands-on support to ensure a compassionate and skilled approach to care delivery.
Ensure that all clinical care is delivered in accordance with current legislation, policies, and best practice guidelines.
Monitor and review clinical documentation, ensuring care records are accurate and up-to-date.
Take responsibility for preparing for regulatory inspections and audits, ensuring that the nursing home meets or exceeds Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards.
Maintain high standards of infection control and health & safety protocols in the nursing home.
Lead and motivate a team of nursing professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to enhance the skills of staff.
Manage staffing levels to ensure adequate cover, including overseeing rotas and conducting appraisals.
Identify training and development opportunities for nursing staff to ensure they are equipped with the latest knowledge and skills.
Conduct regular team meetings and provide ongoing mentoring to staff, promoting a collaborative and positive work environment.
Support the Care Home Manager with budget management, ensuring that resources are used effectively and cost-efficiently.
Assist in overseeing the procurement and management of medical supplies and equipment.
Contribute to the smooth running of the nursing home by adhering to financial, administrative, and operational procedures.
Qualifications & Skills:
Essential:
Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid NMC pin. ( not essential)
Extensive experience in elderly care, with prior experience as a senior nurse, clinical lead, or nurse manager.
Strong knowledge of CQC standards, regulatory compliance, and care planning processes.
Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and support a team.
Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach to resident care.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to manage conflict and resolve issues effectively.
Financial awareness, including managing budgets and staffing costs.
Desirable:
Post-graduate qualification in leadership, management, or a related field (e.g., NVQ Level 5 in Leadership for Health and Social Care).
Experience in dementia care or other specialized care needs.
A commitment to continuous professional development and evidence of ongoing training.
