Our client, an outstanding specialist within the HTP sector, is currently seeking a Principal Ecologist to join their team on a contract basis, traversing the nation to provide expert services related to civil engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities:
* Travelling extensively across the country to carry out ecological assessments for highway projects
* Conducting thorough surveys and habitat assessments to identify species and habitats of importance
* Providing expert advice to ensure compliance with ecological legislation and regulations
* Producing detailed ecological reports and technical notes for clients
* Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate ecological considerations into project planning and delivery
* Ensuring all ecological services are carried out to the highest professional standards and with no SDC (Significant Delays or Complications)
* Contributing to the development of ecological strategies and policies within the organisation
Job Requirements:
* Proven experience in ecological assessments within the highway sector
* Strong knowledge of ecological legislation and best practices
* Ability to travel extensively and work independently in various locations across the country
* Excellent report writing and communication skills
* Proficiency in ecological surveying techniques and habitat assessment methodologies
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
* Relevant degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field
