Network Automation Engineer - Hybrid - Outside IR35
We're looking for a Network Automation Engineer to join a cutting-edge team driving the evolution of network infrastructure. You'll be at the forefront of automating, optimising, and scaling complex networks using modern automation frameworks and programming languages.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement network automation solutions to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
* Design, build, and maintain network infrastructure automation using scripting and configuration management tools.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including DevOps, Security, and Software Engineering, to integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines.
* Support troubleshooting and performance tuning of automated network systems.
* Keep up to date with the latest networking and automation technologies to continuously improve processes.
Key Skills & Experience:
5+ years in network engineering, with at least 3+ years focused on network automation.
Proficiency in Python for automation and scripting.
Experience with network automation protocols (RESTCONF, NETCONF, APIs).
Solid understanding of DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
Strong working knowledge of Ansible, Jinja2, JSON, and automation frameworks.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and collaborative team environments.
Nice to Have (but not essential):
Industry certifications such as Cisco DevNet, CCNP, JNCIP, or Fortinet NSE.
Exposure to cloud networking automation (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Experience with network observability and monitoring tools.
The role:
* Twice a week on-site in Berkshire
* 3 month rolling contract
* ASAP Start
* £300 - £400 outside IR35
