We are seeking an innovative and forward-thinking Multi-Category Garment Technologist to join a successful fashion business. Working alongside mid-premium private label brands with a focus on ladieswear and childrenswear, this role is perfect for someone who thrives on pushing boundaries and redefining industry standards.
You should have a strong understanding of grade fitting and the expertise to accurately adjust graded specifications based on fitting data. Passionate about fit and sizing, you will play a key role in driving innovation, enhancing technical specifications, and setting new benchmarks in garment quality, comfort, and performance.
This role offers hybrid working.
Main Responsibilities will include:
1. Lead fit sessions, ensuring garments meet high standards of comfort, functionality, and quality.
2. Oversee the approval of shipment samples, ensuring they match the sealed Pre-Production samples.
3. Maintain and manage the critical path, ensuring key milestones are met.
4. Develop detailed technical specifications, garment construction guidelines, and measurement charts for consistent production accuracy.
5. Collaborate with suppliers and external labs to conduct fabric and trim testing, ensuring materials meet performance requirements such as colourfastness, shrinkage, and durability.
6. Contribute to internal process improvements, including documentation, grading, and technical manuals.
7. Identify and resolve technical issues related to garment construction, fit, and quality throughout development and production.
8. Communicate technical requirements effectively with factories and sourcing office, ensuring production aligns with company standards.
Person Specifications:
1. Degree in Apparel Design, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field.
2. 5+ years of experience in garment technology or quality assurance.
3. Strong knowledge of garment construction and manufacturing processes.
4. Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
6. Strong communication and collaboration skills.
