About us
The UK’s Financial and Professional Services sector is a cornerstone of both UK and global prosperity. At the City of London Corporation, we are dedicated to sustaining and enhancing the UK’s role as an international Financial and Professional Services hub, driving dynamic economic growth at home and abroad.
The UK’s position as a premier international financial centre attracts firms from around the world. The EU remains the UK’s most significant trading partner in financial services, and both regions continue to benefit from their strong economic, commercial and cultural ties.
Ensuring strong UK-EU business relationships remains a top priority for our sector. Following recent elections in the UK and the EU, there is a fresh opportunity to reassess and enhance these ties.
To leverage this opportunity, the City of London Corporation operates a dedicated EU Policy Team based in Brussels. The team is focused on shaping both the EU and UK policy agendas to deepen the UK-EU relationship long term, driving growth in both our jurisdictions and developing shared approaches to common challenges.
About the role
We are seeking a proactive and dynamic European Policy Adviser to join our International Policy Team based in our Brussels Office. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in shaping EU policymaking with a specific focus on digital finance and data regulation.
This is an important and exciting moment to be joining the City of London Corporation’s Brussels Office. As the relationship between the UK and EU evolves, securing strong UK-EU economic ties will remain a vital driver of prosperity and growth in both jurisdictions.
The European Policy Adviser, based in our Brussels Office, will work within a highly respected team to ensure that the voice of the City is heard at the most senior levels.
Reporting directly to the Head of European Policy, and working closely with colleagues in Brussels and London, the European Policy Adviser will take the lead on key workstreams covering a wide range of policy priorities.
The postholder will undertake policy analysis, research and advocacy on issues of high strategic importance. The postholder will play a leading role in shaping the City’s representation in Brussels and support delivery of our EU engagement and events programmes both in Brussels and Member States.
