Job Description CMM manufacturing engineer Full-time Bristol What you will be doing. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented CMM Programmer to join our team in the Bristol Turbines Facility Machining (BTF-M). The BTF-M is a growing and high technology business unit within the Rolls-Royce Civil Aerospace Supply Chain. The BTF-M is a high-volume machining facility that manufactures high pressure single crystal Turbine Nozzle Guide Vanes. As a CMM Programmer you will be working in the BTF-M Manufacturing Engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the CMM program development, validation and production support on all parts within the facility. Also to ensure that our production parts are capable of meeting and continuing to meet business and customer requirements for safety, quality, cost, deliver rate and lead time. Responsibilities In this role, you will: Create, modify and overcheck CMM programs. Ensure CMM inspection processes developed and validated are fully compliant with drawing and regulatory requirements. Support New Product Introduction projects through creating suites of inspection programs for development and production hardware. Influence the direction of BTFM inspection strategies, ensuring that all the future product requirements are included and will be met. Ensure full compliance with all relevant company, legislative, and technical policies and standards, including Export Control, Intellectual Property, and Cyber Security requirements. Why Rolls-Royce? They are an essential component of our assessment process and are fundamental qualities that we seek for all roles and for this role we are looking for someone who is/has: Experience of using MCOSMOS or equivalent software. Professionally Qualified Engineer (e.g. UK minimum HND/foundation degree or other national equivalent) or equivalent work experience. Strong knowledge of machining processes (grinding, milling and EDM) and process centering. The ability to create inspection methods for features created from these machining processes. Strong understanding of technical drawings and GD&T. Highly motivated with excellent interpersonal skills and the drive to deliver within a challenging, high volume, production environment. Understanding of automated visual inspection (such as OGP / Werth) is desirable but not essential. An understanding of automation (PLC programming) is also desirable but not essential.
