It offers an opportunity to develop an interest in teaching whilst broadening clinical and research experience. The successful candidate will play a central role in the coordination, organisation and delivery of the undergraduate clinical teaching program for 3 sessions per week (annual average) to students from University of Newcastle. A close working relationship with the Undergraduate Medical Education Coordinator ensures a well-structured teaching experience. The candidate will also coordinate the Department's weekly teaching. The remaining 7 sessions will consist of clinical duties, research and professional development. The main clinical duties will be across both emergency and elective orthopaedic care. Opportunities for clinical research are available and can be tailored to individual requirements. Main duties of the job You will be supervised by Mr Jagannath Chakravarthy, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, who has a commitment to undergraduate training. The post is advertised for a doctor who would function at Tier 1 level, (SHO grade/Junior Clinical Teaching Fellow).
