To support our continued growth, we are recruiting for a Development Test Engineer, reporting to the Engineering Manager. In this important role, you will work closely with other engineering team members to develop systems supporting R&D testing needs with emphasis on automating test systems. This role will suit a self-directed individual with a broad skillset who likes working as an integral member of a small, fast-paced team with diverse skills and experience. This role is a poor fit for specialists who are accustomed to working in large organizations with well-defined roles.
The Role Includes:
1. Work with other team members to formulate test system software specifications
2. Write automation software using popular hardware interfaces such as I2C, SPI, USB, GPIB, TCP/IP, RS-232 (serial)
3. Develop user GUIs for test systems and demonstration platforms
4. Formulate development plans and schedules
5. Manage any outside contractors associated with projects
Essential Requirements
6. BSc/BEng in Electronic or Electrical Engineering / Physical sciences / Mechatronics / Computer Science or related field
7. 3+ years of experience in development of Python automation of test instruments
8. Ability to work in a self-directed manner in a fast-paced start-up environment
9. Experience with software version & defect tracking tools
Desirable
10. Experience in development of software supporting R&D and manufacturing data management
11. Experience in working with software version/revision control environments such as Git or SVN
12. Experience in development of drivers for interfacing with test equipment
13. Experience with statistical analysis and data visualization tools such as JMP, Tableau
14. Experience with interfacing with databases such as MongoDB
15. Knowledge of and experience with optical component testing
16. Experience in firmware development for embedded systems
17. Experience in development of PCB assemblies
