MS577 - Reliability Engineer (4 on 4 off) Location: Bromborough, Wirral Salary: £ Completive per annum Overview: First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Reliability Engineer on behalf of one of our clients. As a key member of the Engineering Team, your primary accountability for providing safe and highly reliable equipment to manufacturing colleagues, achieved through a healthy balance of hands-on maintenance competence, equipment knowledge, analysis of equipment performance and strong communication skill. The shifts for this role are on a 4 on 4 off basis, involving 4 x 12 hour days (6:00am – 6:00pm) followed by 4 days off. Applications from ex-military personnel are encouraged but all applications will be given due consideration. Duties and Responsibilities: Undertaking planned and reactive electrical and mechanical maintenance throughout the site. Participate and lead Root cause analysis activities on site and drive engineering lead improvements on site. Use latest techniques and condition-based monitoring information to improve and maintain all assets on site to their most optimum levels. Support and develop CBM activities and techniques on site for the purpose of driving overall plant performance. To act as a deputy to the engineering team leader. To mentor and develop engineering team and engineering apprentices through their engineering knowledge and expertise. Execute planned and unplanned maintenance activities to agreed standards, ensuring safe working always. Ensure all site assets are maintained to a high standard and meet sites requirements and are always available. Deliver mechanical support to all assets and projects on site. Deliver electrical support and projects based on electrical competent assessment and within your capabilities as validated by site engineering management team. To ensure optimum performance of the manufacturing plants and equipment at best value cost and effective use of resource. Maintain the engineering standards across the site by providing functional support and expertise. Ensure a robust and clearly communicated safe system of work is applied for all activities that you undertake – properly risk assessed. To ensure engineering stock control on all parts used – booked out and accounted for correctly within the required systems. Coach, train and give understanding to production colleagues to achieve continual improvements in equipment knowledge/performance. Act with integrity always to build a culture of professional engineering and proactive equipment-focussed continuous improvement skills. Participate in external Quality and Food Safety audits and customer technical visits taking the lead within their department or area of responsibility. Ensure that non-conformances relating to Quality and Food Safety are fully investigated using root cause analysis to define effective corrective and preventive action plans. Skills and Qualifications: Time Served Modern Apprenticeship in Electrical/Mechanical (Essential). NVQ Level 3 in Engineering (Essential). HNC or Equivalent technical certificate (Essential). 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (Essential). Basic Food Hygiene Certificate. Lean Manufacturing i.e. six sigma (Desirable). IOSH or NEBOSH qualifications (Desirable). FLT certified (Desirable). MEWP certified (Desirable)
