What is a Recruitment Consultant? This is our trainee position, requiring zero experience. All we ask for is maximum effort in return. That doesn’t mean getting up at 5am or making you hustle 24/7 - just being the best version of yourself during the hours in your contract. About Us… We’re a privately held recruitment business that helps companies hire specialist talent across Technology, Accounting, Governance, Compliance, Change Management, Advisory and Legal. What does this mean? Well, you will be aligned to a team or office which is responsible for surpassing client expectations by identifying the best talent in the market. We’ve been doing this for 30 years and many of our leadership team started in this role… don’t worry, most of us have been in your shoes and it’s not that bad. What will you be doing? Any new job is tough – especially if you aren’t 100% sure of what you want to do. Fortunately, we have a range of opportunities once you prove yourself. In the Consultant position, you will be given exposure to a wide range of tasks, ranging from; advertising jobs, speaking to candidates, using systems and building a set of skills that will help you progress in our company. Clearly, we’d like you to love what you do; however Recruitment isn’t for everyone. It can be amazing…then awful…then amazing…then average… then awful, etc. Don’t worry, it’s been like that for years – you don’t need to work with everyone, just the candidates and clients that respect you. We’re a big believer in meritocracy, so if you are keen to progress – well, you know what to do. Who should apply? Anyone. What skills do you need to be successful? Recruitment isn’t that linear unfortunately. If you are comfortable talking to people, enjoy putting effort into something and not scared of targets, then it could be great for you. Gold star those who possess empathy and active listening skills What’s in it for you? You’ll get support. On desk. Off desk. In the kitchen. In training, etc. But this is kind of down to you as well – we don’t operate on open chests or fix engines. We talk to people, learn what they do and find clients who need our help. If you can start (and more importantly hold) a conversation, during which you gain an understanding, then you’re halfway there.
