Job Overview:
As a Senior Electrical Project Engineer, you will play a key role in overseeing and driving systems integration, capital expenditure process enhancements and plant improvement schemes at our client's Colors Shotton site. Reporting to the Manager of Shotton Projects, you will manage projects from concept through to implementation, ensuring seamless coordination between engineering systems, adherence to our client’s Engineering Standards, HSE guidance, and Codes of Practice. You will also deputize for the Projects Manager when required.
In this role, you will lead a team of project engineers, emphasizing safe work practices while providing both engineering and technological support to plant engineers and manufacturing teams. Your expertise in managing complex systems, integrating various subsystems, and ensuring proper interface management across engineering disciplines will be crucial for the successful delivery of projects.

Key Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Lead the design, development, procurement, installation, and commissioning of systems as part of project execution, ensuring full systems integration across all engineering functions.
* Prepare and manage detailed governance structures, project plans, and progress reports.
* Develop detailed engineering requirements and specifications for plant/process enhancements, with risk assessments, management of change documentation, process safety considerations, and hazard/operability (HAZOP) studies.
* Oversee the integration and management of various subsystems, ensuring compatibility and alignment with the overall project objectives.
* Ensure adherence to engineering standards, HSE guidance, and Codes of Practice, while coordinating between electrical, mechanical, and software systems for smooth project delivery.
* Lead and manage multidisciplinary teams, including project engineers, design draftsmen, and contractor employees, with a strong focus on safe working practices.
* Provide engineering and technology support to plant engineers and manufacturing teams, ensuring systems operate harmoniously and are aligned with operational requirements.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest engineering equipment and technology, and ensure its proper integration into existing systems.
* Liaise with project and engineering teams across our client’s network, ensuring consistent systems management and knowledge sharing across business units.
* Compile cost and resource forecasts, with a strong emphasis on budget management for multi-system projects.
What You Will Need:
* A HNC/HND or degree equivalent in an appropriate discipline.
* Experience in systems integration within medium to heavy industrial environments is essential.
* Proven experience in the planning and implementation of capital projects, with a focus on managing external contractors. (desirable)
* Strong budget management skills, with a comprehensive understanding of Health, Safety, and Environmental Management knowledge.
* Excellent communication skills and problem solving abilities. (essential)
* Strong knowledge of risk management and construction regulations, especially related to systems engineering.
* Ability to work effectively across different levels of the organization and manage cross-functional teams.
