SRFT has collaborated within the region to form the Greater Manchester Trauma Network. As part of this major restructure, the department has greatly expanded its trauma capacity requiring more input for the regional specialist services.
Main duties of the job
You will work as part of a team and support the Consultants within the Emergency Department along with the wider nursing and therapy teams within the Emergency Village. The main focus of the post is to support the delivery of expert management for neuro-musculoskeletal conditions within the Emergency Department. You may have the opportunity to be involved in virtual trauma / fracture clinics for orthopaedic patients.
You will be expected to contribute to ongoing development projects within the team and personally, both in-house and within regional networks.
* Active attendance at team meetings.
* Full, in-house clinical supervision and mentoring package.
* Participation in and leading ongoing departmental research and audit presentations.
* Teaching both in-house and locally/nationally.
* Active participation in clinical governance meetings.

Qualifications / Registration
* HCPC
* Clinical based Masters degree
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
* Substantial experience, with considerable experience within ED/MSK specialty at a senior level.
* Evidence of extensive expert professional/clinical knowledge in area supplemented by specialist clinical training and CPD.
* Demonstrates specialist expertise underpinned by theory acquired through CPD.
* Excellent clinical reasoning/clinical decision making.
* Evidence of involvement and leadership in teaching and mentoring learners.
* Effective communicator able to communicate complex and sensitive information.
* Evidence of effective people management and leadership skills.
* Evidence of involvement in the development of programmes of care, protocols, and clinical audit.
