Position: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent Medical Secretary based between University Hospitals Crosshouse/Ayr.
What you will do:
An opportunity has arisen for a full-time Medical Secretary within the Anaesthetic service of University Hospital Crosshouse and University Hospital Ayr. Flexible and enthusiastic, you will provide a comprehensive medical secretarial service to the team across both sites.
Primary duties will include audio transcription of clinic and discharge letters, maintaining and updating computerised waiting lists, attending and minuting meetings, dealing with telephone enquiries from patients, relatives, GPs, and other external and internal sources.
Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team. Applicants should have a relevant secretarial qualification, e.g. AMSPAR Diploma for Medical Secretaries, RSA or Scotvec qualification.
