GSL Education are looking for a Special Education Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Boscombe. About the Role:
As a Special Education Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will play a crucial role in supporting students with a range of learning needs. Working closely with teachers and specialists, you will help create a positive learning environment, ensuring that each student receives the individual attention and support they need to succeed.
What your responsibilities will be as a Special Needs Teaching Assistant:
* Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with additional needs.
* Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs).
* Encourage student engagement and build confidence through tailored learning strategies.
* Work closely with teachers to adapt lesson plans to meet student needs.
* Promote independence and social skills development in students.
* Use positive behaviour management strategies to support students in their learning.
* Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to provide well-rounded support.
* Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment.
What we want from a SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA):
* Experience supporting children with special educational needs as a Special Education Needs Teaching Assistant is desirable.
* Background in Psychology, education, childcare, or health and social care is beneficial.
* Understanding of various SEN issues like autism, ADHD etc.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* A patient, compassionate, and proactive approach to student learning.
* Understanding of different learning styles and the ability to adapt accordingly.
