Job Title: Engineers Assistant Location: On the road (UK-wide, primarily Southeast and London) Salary: Up to £26,000 per annum, with overtime available Job Type: Full-time About the Role Our client is a well-established and expanding maintenance and installation business specializing in working at height safety and BMU (Building Maintenance Unit) maintenance. They are seeking a practical and enthusiastic Engineers Assistant to join their team. This role involves working alongside a lead engineer to install, maintain, and repair a variety of permanent access and fall protection equipment systems.This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their skills in a hands-on role within a growing industry. The position requires travel across the Southeast, with most work based in London and around the M25 area. Key Responsibilities Work as part of a 2-person site team to install, maintain, and repair permanent access equipment and working at height (WAH) systems, including: Fall restraint and fall arrest safety wire systems Fixed access ladders Fixed and freestanding handrail systems Gantries and walkways Assist with BMU maintenance, repairs, and testing on client sites. Travel to and from job sites, meeting the lead engineer at designated points and traveling in a company vehicle. Follow strict safe working practices and job instructions. Accurately complete all relevant paperwork and reports. What Youll Get Salary: Up to £26,000 per annum, depending on experience. Overtime: Paid at time and a half (Monday to Saturday) and double time on Sundays. Working Hours: 38.5-hour paid working week, including a paid lunch break. Holidays: 23 days annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing with service. Desirable Skills Experience within the working at height industry. Previous experience in a similar role or industry (e.g., LOLER inspections, BMUs, eyebolts, safety wire systems, guardrails). Mechanical or electrical engineering experience. Schedule Monday to Friday, with opportunities for overtime. Work Authorisation Must have the right to work in the United Kingdom.
