Job Profile
As the Injection Mould Process Engineer / Technician, your primary role will be to implement processes as well as set up, operate, and maintain injection moulding machines ranging from 22t to 120t. You will ensure efficient production by performing tool changes, troubleshooting issues, and optimising processes.
Duties:
Process Optimisation:
* Develop, monitor, and optimise injection moulding processes to improve cycle times, quality, and overall efficiency.
* Analyse production data to identify trends and implement corrective actions for process improvements.
Troubleshooting:
* Investigate and resolve moulding process issues, including defects, equipment malfunctions, and process inconsistencies.
* Collaborate with maintenance and tool room teams to address equipment or tooling-related problems.
Process Documentation:
* Create and maintain process documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process parameter sheets.
* Ensure proper documentation of process changes and validation activities.
New Product Development & Launch:
* Assist in the development and implementation of new injection moulding projects, including trial runs and process validation.
* Work closely with design, quality, and production teams to ensure smooth product launches.
Quality Assurance:
* Collaborate with the quality department to ensure processes meet customer and regulatory requirements.
* Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for quality issues.
Equipment & Tooling Support:
* Support tooling changes, maintenance, and upgrades to enhance performance and longevity.
* Work with equipment suppliers to evaluate and implement new technologies or machinery upgrades.
Continuous Improvement:
* Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to enhance process efficiency and reduce waste.
* Participate in cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence.
Training & Support:
* Train production operators and technicians on process controls, best practices, and troubleshooting techniques.
* Provide technical support to production teams to ensure adherence to established processes.
Safety & Compliance:
* Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations related to injection moulding operations.
* Promote and implement safe work practices in all process-related activities.
Setting / Technician roles:
* Set up and operate injection moulding machines ranging from 22t to 120t
* Perform tool changes, mould adjustments, and process optimisation to ensure high-quality output
* Conduct regular quality checks on products to meet production standards
* Troubleshoot and resolve moulding process or equipment issues
* Carry out routine machine maintenance and preventative maintenance measures
* Collaborate with production and technical teams to improve machine performance
* Adhere to health and safety protocols within the production environment
* Train and assist junior team members, as required
Hours of Work:
* 40 hours per week
* Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
* Overtime opportunities available (subject to rate)
