We are seeking an enthusiastic and conscientiousdentist with good interpersonal and clinical skills to join the CommunityDental Services in Oldham. Working as part of a team and with excellent nursingsupport, this post will suit a dentist who is committed to providing a highstandard of oral health care. There will be, on occasion, the requirement towork across other clinical sites in Greater Manchester.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will be part of a team providing a high standard of dental care for patients who are unable to receive care in a general dental practice environment, including patients with disabilities and children requiring inhalation sedation or general anaesthesia. The successful candidate will preferably have current or recent experience of working in a UK-based salaried primary care dental service. Ideally the candidate should have established and demonstrable skills in the provision of oral health care for children and adults with special needs. The candidate will also ideally have experience of providing dental care under sedation and general anaesthesia, domiciliary dentistry and dental epidemiological fieldwork. Candidates who have worked in General Dental Services and have an interest in paediatric or special care dentistry will also be considered

Job responsibilities
Job Purpose: Toprovide dental care for priority groups in a variety of settings.
Duties andResponsibilities: Provide awide range of primary dental care for patients including children, people withdisabilities, older people and those referred by general dental practitioners.
Adhere todepartment and professional standards/protocols without directsupervision. Comment on departmentpolicies and propose changes to departmental working practices or procedures asnecessary.
Accesscommunication from the Trust and from the department via e-mail.
Complete FP17 formsfor patients and determine which band the course of treatment falls into.
Organise thecollection of patient charges and report any bad debtors to the Head of Dentalservices.
Provide dental carein the domiciliary setting for patients who are housebound.
Provide dental carein hospital under general anaesthesia for patients who cannot have theirtreatment provided in the clinic.
Support the Head ofDental Services to maintain health and safety and security within thedepartment, reporting risks and taking appropriate action as required.
Participate inaudit and peer review as required.
The post holder will be required to undertake any other duties andresponsibilities within the framework of the post.

Qualifications
* Bachelor of Dental Surgery or equivalent, with full registration with General Dental Council.
Experience
* Experience to post VT level.
* Providing dental care for children.
* Providing dental care for people with disabilities.
* Undertaking dental care in the domiciliary setting.
* Treatment with conscious sedation
* Treatment in prisons and secure mental health facilities
Other
* Inclusion on a Performers List
* The ability to travel independently across the Trust
* The ability to work flexibly in accordance with service needs
