The Role:
The IT Hardware Repair Team Leader will play a crucial role in repairing and refurbishing IT hardware whilst supporting and leading a team of Repair & Build Technicians. Working from the companies new Droitwich facility, the successful candidate will take responsibility and ownership of daily operations within the internal engineering department ensuring repair schedules are achieved, repair work is carried out to a high level of quality standard whilst also identifying and implementing any process improvement opportunities. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines technical expertise with supervisory responsibilities and is perfect for someone with an interest in practical IT hardware work. Key Responsibilities:
* Supervising, leading and mentoring a team of hardware repair technicians
* Carrying out fault diagnosis, root cause analysis, assessing damage and repairing IT hardware
* Ensuring H&S procedures and quality procedures are followed
* Plan, organise and manage daily repair schedules, ensuring jobs are completed on time
* Supporting junior team members with repair escalations
* Regularly checking and auditing quality standards of finished repairs
* Support the development of process, service and quality improvements
* Conduct Team Leader appraisals, reviews and reports
Requirements:
* Practical interest in IT hardware (experience with hardware repairs, refurbishment and build)
* Detail-oriented
* Very strong organisational, time-management and communication skills
* Good level of proficiency in hardware diagnostic tools and repair equipment
* 2+ years’ experience repairing laptops, phones and desktop PC’s etc
* Previous experience managing a team would be beneficial, although not essential
