Job Title: Multi-Skills Trainer Location: HMP Millsike Salary: £32,000 - £34,700 per annum Contract Type: Permanent Hours of Work: Full-time Role & Client Overview: Our client is a leading provider of education, training, and employability services, dedicated to rehabilitation and skills development. They are recruiting for the first Vocational Trainers at HMP Millsike, a brand-new prison estate opening in Spring 2025. This is a unique opportunity to help shape a new curriculum and deliver high-quality training from the very beginning. As a Multi-Skills Trainer, you will deliver practical, hands-on training in plastering, painting and decorating, tiling, and dry lining up to City & Guilds Level 2. Working with a cohort of up to 18 learners, your role will focus on building essential skills, fostering employability, and promoting personal growth. You will play a crucial role in guiding learners towards meaningful employment upon release. Key Responsibilities:
* Teach Practical Construction Skills: Deliver engaging sessions in plastering, painting, tiling, and dry lining, preparing learners for their City & Guilds Level 2 assessments.
* Adapt and Support Diverse Learners: Use adaptive training techniques to meet varied learning needs, ensuring each learner progresses confidently.
* Promote Safety and Tool Management: Conduct regular tool checks and uphold rigorous health and safety standards in a secure workshop environment.
* Incorporate Employability and Digital Skills: Embed employability and digital literacy into practical sessions, preparing learners for today’s job market.
* Encourage Personal Growth: Foster a supportive training environment, motivating learners to engage, reflect, and take responsibility for their learning journey.
Essential/Desirable Criteria: Essential Requirements:
* Construction trade qualification to at least Level 2.
* Level 2 in Maths and English.
* Strong experience in vocational training or practical instruction.
* A passion for motivating and supporting learners to achieve their goals.
Desirable:
* A teaching qualification such as PTLLS, AET, CET or equivalent (or willingness to work towards one).
* An assessor’s qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
