Job Summary:
This position is for a Nuclear Assurance Practitioner who will work a multi:year United Kingdom (UK) nuclear infrastructure programme for which Bechtel will provide PMO (including
Project, Engineering, Commercial and Construction Management) services.
The Nuclear Assurance Practitioner will provide safety case development support to the project assurance manager for a major construction project within the United Kingdom.The individual will contribute to radiological hazard analysis, criticality studies, development of safety functional requirements and interfacing with engineering to support design development.The candidate will provide input to the development of project schedules and support regulatory presentations to accomplish project mission.
The position is open to United Kingdom (UK) Nationals only.Candidate must be able to obtain a DV security clearance.
Major Responsibilities:
:
Report to the Project Engineer
:
Contribute to the development of the facility nuclear safety cases.
:
Preparation, facilitation, and documentation of Hazard Studies
:
Development of Safety Functional Requirements and associated schedules
:
Development of Hazard Analysis reports
:
Development of Environmental studies
:
Development of specialist criticality, fire, and conventional health and safety deliverables
:
Contribute to the engineering design in the development of systems involving nuclear safety requirements to ensure safety case is optimized with design.

Support development of resource loaded schedules for safety case development in support of project milestones.
:
Interface with engineering, clients, and regulators regularly to discuss progress, receive feedback, and ensure customer satisfaction with safety caseapproach and development.
Education and Experience Requirements:
:
Master's Degree in engineering or related field from an accredited university or college.
:
Must be able to complete a pre:employment drug screen and background check.
:
Ability to work on the client site in Berkshire 3 days per week

Required Knowledge and Skills:

Knowledge of risk management, ideally within a nuclear or other highly regulated environment

Experience working within a nuclear site a benefit

Experience facilitating multi:discipline meetings to resolve technical and related requirements compliance issues

Ability to read and understand engineering documents and drawings
