As a Programme Manager in our Highway Services, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing, developing, and delivering programmes of transformational change that help the Kirklees Highway Service achieve its strategic targets, improve services for our residents, and embrace new and emerging technologies. What’s the role? In a nutshell, you’ll be at the forefront of innovation You’ll oversee complex change projects within the Highways Service, focusing on improving services for our residents and staff, and supporting our approach to addressing the Climate Emergency. Whilst experience in highways is not essential, we are particularly interested in applicants with a background in highways or experience in overseeing change programmes in a similar field. Key Responsibilities: Lead the development and implementation of the Highway Change Programme and identified projects and workstreams. Improve compliance, resilience, and perception while delivering strategic ambitions. Develop and implement required processes and procedures to support service resilience and planning. Ensure procedures and planning arrangements support our target to be Net Zero and Climate Ready by 2038. Support delivery of key resilience development areas, including process assessment, mapping, and rationalisation to aid transformation. Champion opportunities to reflect and promote the good work of the service, managing circa £5Bn of assets along 1900km of roads and 2300km of footways. Review processes to ensure improved resident and stakeholder engagement. Lead on the assessment of depot space requirements in light of new ways of working and support carbon reduction measures. Manage the introduction of smart technology and expansion of performance measures to offer better value for money. Lead on the review of service functions and associated contracts to ensure improved value for money services, without impacting delivery standards What you’ll get in return?
