About The Role What will I be doing? Reporting to the Senior Site Manager, you will join our processing teams in the Luton - looking after the surrounding sites. You will be responsible for supporting and supervising recycling centres within their area, ensuring compliance on all relevant standards of the site and the efficient deployment of staff and resources including the resale activities. Providing excellent customer service and dealing with complaints which relates to the sites and handling them in an applicable timescale. Ensuring the sites are manned efficiently and correctly and ensuring the working hours are managed, ensuring information is provided to payroll to ensure that staff are paid correctly. Further responsibility involves maintaining budgetary control over operations and ordering equipment and resources as necessary for sites. You will be the main COTC holder to the sites in your area and as such you have responsibility to ensure that the site is operated in accordance with the permit or licence. This role is also expected to ensure that all records on sites are up to date and kept in accordance with policies, procedures and legislation, including training records, safe working procedures & risk assessments. What are the requirements? Experience of working in a supervisory position is essential and applicants must be able to demonstrate a passion for recycling coupled with communication and computer skills. Working as part of a team, you must have a qualification in COTC Level 4 Hazardous Waste (Transfer), be working towards it or fully committed to achieving the qualification within 12 months. A good understanding of H&S and Environmental requirements in the workplace along with the ability to produce risk assessments and standard working procedures. You must be able to work to deadlines and be proactive in their approach to the day to day requirements of the role. Experience of working in the waste industry is desirable, but not essential.
