The position:
We are looking to recruit a Head of Events – Esports to lead the delivery of industry-leading events and experiences program to our partners, fans and guests visiting the Williams site in Oxfordshire and at external events around the world.
Reporting to the Director of Esports, this role plays a key part in delivering events that enhance the Williams brand and guest experience.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the planning, management and delivery of all Esports and gaming events taking place in the Williams Esports Lounge, Experience Centre and external events around the world, including F1 races, fan activations and partner events.
* Oversee preparation, maintenance, logistics and operation of the sim racing hardware and software used at internal and external events and by drivers and the wider team, including sourcing, storage, shipping, repair/replacement and installation of all equipment as required.
* Organise the events team to deliver hands-on, front-of-house and guest management across all events to ensure exceptional customer experience.
* Ensure the Esports Events Team collaborates with the Experience Centre team on event booking, administration, marketing and partner engagement.
* Co-ordinate with the Fan Engagement & Events team in the USA to support planning, management and delivery of events in that market.
* Support the Esports Race Team with activity as required, for driver training camps, media & sponsor event.
* Lead the strategic objective to generate revenue and expand our customer base through event activity including sim sales, sim hire and exhibitions.
* Effectively manage third-party suppliers, ensuring that objectives, event briefs and evaluations are thorough and timely.
* Execute a key leadership role in the Esports organisation, with a commitment to upholding and instilling the culture, values and behaviours in your team and throughout collaborations with other teams.
* Liaise with the wider Williams team, third party agencies and suppliers, building strong working relationships and managing output.
* Acts as a brand champion, ensuring the Williams brand is represented correctly and consistently across all content output.
* May require flexible and unsociable working hours and some travel, depending on the event calendar and team requirements.
To be considered for this position, you must have:
* Proven experience leading an events and guest experience function.
* Strong knowledge of sim racing hardware and software.
* Relevant qualification in Events or a related subject eg. Marketing/Esports/Hospitality.
* Strong balance of creative flair, eye for detail and project organisational skills.
* An enthusiastic self-starter, with an ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
* ·A problem solver, able to use initiative to ensure deadlines are met on time to a consistently high standard.
* Able to work flexibly with a positive can-do attitude.
