Health care assistant/decontamination technician

To work as part of the Endoscopy department team assisting in the delivery of high-quality service delivery under the supervision of qualified staff. You will support all staff with the day-to-day running of services undertaken in Endoscopy at Cirencester Hospital. Key roles identified by the manager will assist in the smooth running of the department. This job description outlines current duties and responsibilities; however, it is subject to review and amendment in light of developing or changing services and as part of the annual Individual Performance Development Review.

* With appropriate training, learn to independently decontaminate endoscopes using the AERs and drying cabinets.

Job responsibilities
* Work in Endoscopy at Cirencester Hospital under the supervision of qualified staff.
* Engage with all service users, patients, and other teams in the Hospital setting.
* Develop skills to meet the demands and diversity in this department.
* Be flexible to meet service delivery requirements.
Hours of work are Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 18:30. Currently, we do not work bank holidays or weekends.
Person Specification
General
* Flexibility of working hours.
Qualifications
* C and above in GCSE English and Maths or level 4 and above (or equivalent adult literacy and numeracy).
* Care certificate.
Experience
* Demonstrates good working knowledge and actively contributes to the safety within the clinical environment.
* Some knowledge of decontamination of endoscopes using washers and drying cabinets.
