The Role
:
As a Trauma-Informed Youth Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in the lives of young people who require social, emotional, and mental health support. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Providing day-to-day care and support to young people.
2. Assisting in daily routines to ensure their well-being.
3. Assist with daily living activities and medication administration as required.
4. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including healthcare professionals, to ensure holistic care.
5. Organising and participating in recreational activities.
6. Creating a safe and welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities:
7. Building positive nurturing relationships with vulnerable young people with complex needs.
8. Empower and motivate young people to achieve their goals and overcome difficult emotions and behaviours.
9. Foster a positive and supportive atmosphere within the home.
10. Maintain accurate records and documentation.
11. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for the young people in your care.
12. Commitment to personal wellbeing and healthy reflective practice.
What you’ll bring:
13. Compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to make a difference in young people’s lives.
14. A willingness to work towards or current qualification in QCF level 3 in Residential Childcare.
15. Previous experience providing emotional and behavioural support in a professional setting is highly desirable
16. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends to meet operational needs of the home
17. Positive role model – honesty and empathy are a must.
18. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
