An exciting opportunity has arisen for substantive band 6 in Theatres 20/21/22/33 (Trauma surgery, Elective and Emergency Spinal and Cranial Surgery) for those who wish to enhance their career and join our team. The post holder requires a minimum of 2 years' experience at Band 5 and will need to have demonstrated leadership qualities. Relevant Mentorship / Teaching skills are essential to the role.
The successful candidate will be expected to coordinate theatre lists either from a scrub or anaesthetic skill base, manage Trauma, Neurosurgery and Spinal Theatres during a 24 hour, 7 day period, support deputies and Band 7's. You will be expected to lead a team in theatre and at times the department. We encourage and support the development of dual and triple role practitioners. You will gain a wide range of experience and can expand your skills and knowledge in this challenging environment.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for dynamic, enthusiastic candidates with the ability to work well within a busy dynamic unit, and who can deliver high quality patient care. In turn, we can offer you a structured preceptorship and induction programme for all new members of staff, plus access to ongoing continuing professional education and development, appraisal and clinical supervision. This post is open to applicants who wish to join our team. We have vacancies for fulltime staff. We cover the 24 hour period with a range of shifts: Early, Late, Long days, Nights and on-calls. Staff need to be able to work flexibly to cover service requirements.
