Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Nurse to join this busy team. Benson and Egerton Trauma Unit is a 62 bedded Trauma & Orthopaedic unit mainly accepting emergency admissions from A&E or clinics.
For candidates who meet the criteria, support and training will be given to help you to develop the knowledge and skills to progress and develop in the Band 6 role.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will have excellent communication skills and be able to fully interact with all members of the multidisciplinary team.
They will be able to demonstrate excellent leadership skills within the clinical environment to ensure effective running of the shift 24 hours per day.
Support the Ward Matron and act in her absence.
Support and help to develop the team and act as mentor for new staff, junior staff and student nurses.

1. Qualified RGN/RN/RSCN with active NMC Registration
2. Completion of Practice supervisor/assessor course (or similar qualification)
3. Evidence of continual professional development

4. Diploma Professional practice or working towards this Qualification

5. Substantial post registration experience at band 5
6. Experience of taking charge

7. Previous experience working within the NHS
