Our libraries deliver essential community-based support, promoting the benefits of reading for everyone, offering a quality, trusted information service, bridging digital inclusion through supporting safe access to online resources, and curating a programme of events and activities that meet the needs of targeted audiences.
Salary: £24,027 to £24,404 per annum, £19,481 to £19,787 (pro rata for part time)

Working Pattern: Part-time (30 hours per week) you will work shifts between Monday to Friday

Worthing is a vibrant and welcoming community hub library, conveniently situated in the town centre near the museum, town hall, and borough council offices.
The library houses registration and antenatal services, the FindItOut Centre, the Schools Library Service, and the Business and Intellectual Property Centre. Additionally, various rooms are available for hire, including a lecture theatre that can be reserved for Saturday weddings.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic, and resourceful individual, with excellent digital skills.
It's not just about the books! We are looking for someone who understands the power of community and the importance of fostering a love for reading in people of all ages. You will have the opportunity to participate in exciting library programmes such as Knit and Natter and Rhyme Time.
You will be the go-to person for customers at the library, providing high quality assistance with their questions and guiding them to other services as needed
We are looking for someone with excellent customer service skills! Customer service is at the forefront of the library service, as it plays an important role in creating a vibrant and dynamic workplace. It requires flexibility, creativity, and initiative from those who work there. This could mean helping a customer log-on to the library Wi-Fi or a reading recommendation.
