As Head of Business Support, Governance & Risk, you will:

2. Governance Framework Development – Oversee the implementation of a clear and effective governance structure, ensuring compliance with regulatory and operational standards.
3. Council & Executive Engagement – Provide expert guidance on corporate affairs, facilitating smooth interactions between the Council, Sub-Committees, Executive Leadership Team, and Senior Management.
4. Regulatory Compliance & Assurance – Ensure adherence to external regulatory requirements, including Charity Commission regulations, health and safety, and data protection, acting as the primary liaison for compliance matters.
5. Quality & Continuous Improvement – Oversee the development of a Quality Improvement Framework, ensuring policies and processes align with strategic goals and drive operational efficiency.
6. Company Secretarial & Business Continuity – Act as Company Secretary, maintaining compliance with governance documentation, overseeing sustainability initiatives, and ensuring robust business continuity planning.
We’re seeking someone with:
1. Risk & Compliance Expertise – Demonstrated experience in risk management, compliance, and governance within the charity or non-profit sector.
2. Regulatory Knowledge – Strong understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks, including GDPR, health and safety, and Charity Commission guidelines.
3. Stakeholder & Leadership Influence – Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership and external regulators.
4. Process Optimisation & Quality Improvement – Experience in quality assurance, process improvements, and embedding a culture of compliance and operational efficiency.
5. Business Continuity & Sustainability – Proven experience in developing business continuity plans and leading sustainability initiatives in a complex organisational environment.
6. Leadership & Team Management – Successful track record in leading diverse, multi-functional teams to achieve strategic objectives.
